Motability

Motability is a national charity, set up on the initiative of the Government in 1977, to assist disabled people with their mobility needs. They direct and oversee the Motability Scheme which enables disabled people to obtain a car, powered wheelchair or scooter simply by using their government-funded mobility allowances.

WAV stands for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle - these are a range of vehicles specifically converted to allow easy access for the wheelchair passenger.

Left Foot Accelerators

If you are unable to use your right leg for braking and accelerating, this adaptation allows you to use your left foot instead. The controls are normally ‘twin flip’ so you can choose either the left or right pedals depending on who is driving.

Operation:

The pedal operates as any other accelerator in either left or right hand positions and can be swapped by simply pulling the relevant pedal down into position. The unused pedal automatically stows out of sight.
